To date, after eight years of cruising, it is probably my least favorite island we have visited with Irie, and we've seen quite a bit more since this post. I still fully encourage people to share the good and the bad about the places they visit. I am not encouraging negativism, but some perspective is highly appreciated, instead of seeing everything through rosy glasses.Liesbethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13402741679152508367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8176248835541941998.post-43909365922142767932015-06-12T13:48:16.749-05:002015-06-12T13:48:16.749-05:00I am so late to the party but I just went to Curac...I am so late to the party but I just went to Curacao and overall just did not like the place. Am I not allowed to say that? Will other people not be able to see the enormous oil refinery belching flames and pollution into the air and the traffic? Will other people not notice the largely run down accomodations? Lady, please. It's not that I only write about negative things.

Too many people only write about the greatness and the loveliness of everything, which gives the perfect tourist picture and will cause some disappointment at times when visitors are lured to these places. It is not reality; nothing is perfect. My blog, as all others, is very personal and I have chosen to be honest about our experiences and open about negative encounters as well. How is anything ever supposed to change for the best if everybody keeps their mouth shut about negative experiences?

Anyway, just like you, I am enjoying my time on the water, otherwise, I wouldn't be doing this anymore. But, I like to share it "all"...Liesbethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13402741679152508367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8176248835541941998.post-52093784309391337022012-04-01T12:00:57.515-05:002012-04-01T12:00:57.515-05:00I really think you need to start looking for the &...I really think you need to start looking for the "good" or leave it out. Your experience in Curacao (and Los Roques) was so different from ours I think you are on a different planet. Get over the negativity and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Look for the good in people instead of the bad and if you have a bad experience.....just deal with it - don't write it on your blog for the world to see!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
